Christmas Traditions

WOW! I can’t believe that there is less than a week until Christmas. Where has this year gone? By some miracle, I’ve managed to finished all of my shopping, most of my wrapping, and the holiday baking begins this weekend. YIPPEEEEEE.

I love getting to spend time with my family – creating memories, eating delicious food, and laughing so hard our bellies hurt. Our night begins just before midnight. My grandma makes traditional Filipino food from recipes passed down from each generation. After our bellies are full, we all get together and sit around the living room in a circle to open presents. We each take our turn, sharing the fun things we’ve received. We all go to bed peacefully and well rested for whatever festivities Christmas Day brings us!

What fun family traditions do you have? Of course, getting married means many new traditions to cherish together! The merging of families brings on more love and a ton of fun.

A Year of Learning

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only 12 days away! That means finishing up last minute shopping, wrapping gifts, and many days of celebrating! Our team got together recently to celebrate the holidays and the (almost) end of an incredible 2018 wedding season. It was so nice to see everyone and catch up!

While enjoying our dinner, Elaine asked the question “In regards to photography, what was/were some of the biggest things you’ve learned this year?” We all had so much to share with each other!!! For some of us, we got technical and talked about camera settings and editing tricks (I’ll save that for another fun post later). But one answer that stood out was from Cara. She shared that one of the biggest things that she learned was how to go with the flow and take things as they come. She shared that there are some things that you cannot control in life and on your wedding day and it’s better not to let yourself get overworked or stressed. Essentially, don’t sweat the small stuff!

We always encourage our clients to remember that their wedding day is about them and celebrating their love for one another. When things go wrong in life, or on your wedding day, you will always have each other.

A Little Update!

Is it just me or is this year flying by? It feels like I blinked and it’s already December. With this new season, we also have news to share with all of you.

We are so excited to announce with you that we are now the preferred photography team at another Wedgewood location – Wedgewood at The University Club Irvine. This stunning location was just build this year. They opened their doors recently and we are already in love with this space, their team, and the wonderful couples! The campus and building offer a huge variety of locations for photography!
